Even after a couple of days on crutches you hands are going to get sore and start to blister. Everybody’s does!
When they do get sore they will stay because you use them all the time. So prevention is definately better than cure here.
You need to get cushioned handles to place on the crutches handles.
The best things to use here i found are the handles you use on hurleys/tennis rackets. They are cheap, very durable, you can find them in most sports stores and they work a treat.
